For many years, I have been asked how I create my sculptures, how I learned to carve with a chainsaw, and what inspires the pieces I make from timber. I’m delighted to finally be able to share those stories and techniques in my new book, ‘Chainsaw Art: From Design to Finished Sculpture’.

My path into chainsaw carving has been anything but ordinary. From my beginnings as an illustrator and tree surgeon to creating large-scale sculptures across the UK and around the world, I’ve spent years exploring the possibilities hidden within every log.

In this book, I share the techniques I use, the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and full page pictures of some of my favourite pieces. You’ll find practical guidance, detailed photographs and insights into the creative decisions that turn raw wood into finished sculpture.

More than anything, I wanted this book to capture the joy of the craft and the connection between artist, tool and material.
